Command
- The Command Department
contains the offices of
administration for the
chapter. These offices operate
under the supervision of the
Second Officer, with the XO
serving as manager of the
department. The Command
Department is also comprised
of the administrative officers
listed below. This department
is charged with the overall
smooth operation of the
chapter.
Operations
- The Chief of Operations, or
OPS, is the person with whom
new members should have the
most contact during their
first days aboard. Ops are
responsible for the
Orientation of new members,
and Strategic Operations are
responsible for the retention
of all members. Together,
these two positions make up
our recruiting tools.
Computer
Operations - The
Chief of Computer Operations
is the primary person
responsible for the design and
maintenance of our website,
including posting
announcements, birthdays, and
of course the newsletter.
Additionally, COMPOPS
maintains all command networks
and computer systems and
assists crew members with any
issues pertaining to computer
technology.
Security
- The main goal of the
Security Department is to
maintain the ship's security
systems, tactical systems, and
offensive/defensive measures.
The Chief of Security and
Tactics are responsible for
keeping the Command Department
up to date on all foreign
weaponry, including new
technology of enemy species,
weapon overhauls, and
maintenance. During away
missions, regulations state
there will be one security
officer for every Command Line
Officer sent into a dangerous
mission. Security officers are
also called upon during
delegations to act as body
guards for visiting
dignitaries, including other
races. Security and Tactics
are also assisted by these
positions listed below.
Science
- Purpose- The real world
aspect of the Chief of
Sciences is to keep the crew
updated on specific charities
within their areas, and if any
one participates in a charity,
that person sends their
information into the Chief of
Science who then includes it
in his/her reports. The
Science Department is charged
with researching all things
Scientific, from spatial
anomalies to space-time
vortices, from planetary to
physical, anatomical to
zoological, this is the
department that has all of the
answers. The department is
assisted with the offices
listed below.
Engineering
- Engineering keeps the ship
flying. They are responsible
for the engines (warp and
impulse), life support,
systems relays, power grids,
shields, and everything else
which keeps this vessel
operative. In real life,
Engineering is charged with
the fabrication of props when
we visit a Regional or Fleet
Event. Engineering is assisted
by these offices below.
Communications
- Communications, or COMM, is
responsible for making our
presence known to other
vessels by online
communications, newsletters,
chat groups, and whatever
other method is readily
available. Communications also
designs our handbooks,
promotion certificates, and
other paraphernalia
distributed to our members.
The COMM department is
supported by these offices
listed below.
Medical
- The purpose of the Medical
Department aboard the ship is
two fold.
Aspect number one; they are
the care givers to all
personnel assigned to the
ship, whether Naval or
Marine. The care they give
is the absolute best for
every group.
Aspect number two; they
also operate on the field,
and usually not to far away
from the area of combat. The
entire organization is
rather large, and is led by
the Chief of Medical
Operations.
On a vessel this large
with this many Marines and
Naval Personnel, the Chief
Medical Officer title has
been done away with and
replaced with this. It seems
that the Chief of Medical
Operations will be mainly an
administrator, doing duty
rosters, assigning medivac
teams, setting up field
hospitals and Mobile
Surgical Hospitals, as well
as overseeing the day to day
operations of the Medical
Department.
It has been deemed
necessary, again due to the
large complement of SFMC
personnel, that the Chief of
Medical Operations also have
a primary Marine
Occupational Specialty (MOS)
of 280, or that of a Medical
Commander. The Associate
Chief of Medical Operations
must have a Primary MOS of
255, or Surgeon, and a
secondary of 236, or Medical
Administrator. The diagram
for the medical department
also closely resembles that
of a Marine unit. This is
much simpler and less time
consuming for everyone
involved.
